The paths of La Pietra e La Bismantova

The paths that from “gir d’la Preda” lead towards the top, are easy accessible on foot, by bike or on horseback and developed on agricultural land opening up exciting prospects on the Valley of Secchia, on the patterned ridges of Triassic gypsum and on the high Tuscan-Emilian ridge.
The routes, most tracked CAI, start at population centers, or manufacturing agro food or agri tourism facilities and almost all converge at the point of greatest attendance of the Pietra, Piazzale Dante, the most ample current parking and also the most near the top. From Piazzale Dante we reach the Benedictine hermitage, the refuge and the guest “Pietra”.
On of this is the Spallanzani path, dedicated to the famous naturalist originally from Scandiano, stars from Scandiano and reaches S. Pellegrino in Alpe, passing through places of tremendous natural interest: the Salse of Regnano (Viano), the crest of Valestra-Fossola, Bismantova, the Triassic chalk outcrops, the Trial 00.
